Good morning! Happy May! Yes, I’m quite enthusiastic this morning, but the working day has yet to start so bear with me... So, in an attempt to get a handle on the month, I’m taking part in a couple of challenges on the Money Saving Expert forum.
Firstly, I’m taking part in a NSD (No Spend Day) Challenge. Basically, its aim, I think, is to cut the amount of days you spend in a month. It might seem obvious, but the more I thought about it, the more I realised I have a tendency to say “Oh its okay, its only a chocolate bar” or “Oh, I just need to get this stamp...” and probably spend most days of the month, if not EVERY day. So I’ve set my target at just over 60% of the days, so 19 days. (It works out over 60%, but only just I think). So we’ll see how that goes. I’m thinking it might be an idea for me to “save” a pound for every day I have a no spend. But then I don’t know if that would be counter-productive? We’ll see. Fingers crossed for success!
Along side this, I’m taking part in the “Make £X a day” challenge, and have set my target at £5 a day. This totals £155 for the month. So far today, I’ve “earned” £3 on Vivatic , but I’m not sure how good they are for paying out. The threshold is £25, but this seems fairly obtainable. £2 bonus just for joining. The surveys seem to be few and far between, but who knows. I might just be missing them. I’ll be investigating other similar things as we go.
On a similar note, I’m starting this month off on Swagbucks with a blanace of 245 SB’s. Its my aim to earn roughly 100 points a day. Obviously, if I earn more, I’ll be happy.
So, lets see how the day goes then! :)
